Hi,

This post is some kind of a continuation of this post. I have the same situation but because of slightly different reasons.

My case was like this. Last night I tried to upgrade the firmware of my adsl modem which is connected to the external NIC of my ISA box. Our server cabinet is far away from my workstation and I hadn't any straight through cable with me to use the nearby PC's to connect to the modem after the upgrade to be able to change it's IP. So I decided just to change the external NIC's IP on the ISA box to do the job. I accomplished what I wanted to do but after I have changed the external NIC's IP back to the original value I received the same error as big_dazza has mentioned when I tried to open the ISA console.

ISA is still functioning. I'm still able to connect to my ISA through my workstation via the MMC. And the strangest thing is that the "Event Viewer" on the ISA box doesn't show any errors about this situation. Hasn't MS yet integrated the error messages of ISA to the event sink via updates ? Or is this error something which can't be shown on the event logs ?

Now, what can be done to get rid of this error ? Will just uninstalling the MMC and re-installing it solve my problem ? Can this procedure cause any other problems and could my configuration be lost by doing it ?
