I have built a .net service which includes the ability to connect to the service through remoting.

I installed the service on XP and Windows 2003 server and all works well. The service works good and I am able to connect to the service with remoting as designed.

However, when I install the service on the Windows 2003 server which also has ISA Server 2004, I am no longer able to connect to the service using Remoting. All connections to the service are internal.

I have created a rule for the port but it is never displayed in the logging. All I see in the loggin in ISA is Action 'Failed Connection Attempt'

It turns out the port that the service was configured to use was 8080.

Once I changed the port to 8088, I was able to successfully connect to the .Net Service using remoting.

I am not sure at this point why 8080 would not work, but 8088 is fine with me.
