Hi everybody!
I´m a little confuse about publish a DNS server with a private IP address.
I´ve read a lot of information about ISA and I´m very interested of buy it (ISA 2004 SE), but I don´t understand yet how to setup the rules or configuration to do the publish of my stuffs.
The scenario will be the next:
Internet
|
|
Provider Router
|
|
Our Router
Public IP -> 200.38.193.226
|
|
External ISA Nic
Public IP -> 200.38.193.225
|
| DMZ |---- DNS and SMTP Server -> 172.29.21.21
ISA Server ------ |
| |---- Web Server -> 172.29.21.22
|
Internal Network
10.91.1.x
My questions are:
How I must to setup the ISA to publish my DNS?
Do I need more IP public address? My ISP just will give me 4 and I will use one for the ISA´s external nic
and the other for the router. I won´t can create subnetting :(
What IP address I have to type on DNS registrant? In my case http://nic.mx .
What IP address I have to add on DNS Server for my Web and SMTP Server?

My problem is, I´ll have 2 servers, one of them will be the DNS and SMTP server, the other de Web. Each one with its private IP address.
The external nic of ISA Server, will have one public ip address.
On NIC (nic.mx), what IP address I must to setup to put online my domain (SAS.gob.mx) ??
On DNS server, what IP I must to type for the SMTP and Web Server?
In the future, I´ll want to install a second SMTP and DNS servers, what IP I must to add on NIC?
what IP I must to setup on DNS about the SMTP?
I don´t know our Public IP address yet, but for illustration, please use 200.38.193.225 that I put on my diagram.
I appreciate your value help.

Use the public IP for all DNS records. Then create a server publishing rule, using the external IP of ISA with the appropriate internal IP. In the future, when you want to add a 2nd SMTP server you'll need a 2nd IP on the external NIC. You'll then use that IP for your 2nd SMTP server publishing rule.
