Tom,

Can you give me your recommendation on what third party load balancer\fail over would be good to use for below requirement.

We want 2 isa 2004 unihomed servers in a dmz for OWA publishing and RPC\https. I believe that ISA 2004 standard will not support NLB or clustering.

If you were faced with this requirement what solution would you use. Thanks a bunch. A third party hardware load balance can be an option and might be the only way.

Thanks.

Hi Owen,

I like the F5 hardware load balancers the most. However, if you can wait, and have the option, ISA EE supports NLB is its pretty sweet. I can't say more than that now, but its quite nice.

Also, if there's any way you can configure the ISA firewall's as full featured firewalls by adding at least one more NIC in each one, you'll *significantly* enhance the level of security and access control you have over both inbound and outbound connections to and from the ISA firewall Protected Networks. Remember, a single NIC box provides some logging and filtering, but any joker can get around a single NIC box.

HTH,
Tom

Have you looked at RainWall for ISA from Rainfinity?
