I recently acquired DSL service with 16 static IP addresses. I was assigned 209.12.136.144-159 and told to use 255.255.255.128 as my subnet mask and 209.12.136.129 as my default gateway.

The DSL equipment installed was a ZyXEL 645ME-A1 in BRIDGE mode.

My goal is to have ISA Server 2004 in front of a private, internal network and a DMZ with as many of my public IP addresses as possible.

I settled on the following NIC configuration::
[EXT] 209.12.136.145/29 w/ 209.12.136.129 as DG
[DMZ] 209.12.136.153/29 w/ no DG
[INT] 192.168.16.1/24 w/ no DG

[INT]->[EXT] is working
[INT]->[DMZ] is working
[EXT]->[DMZ] is NOT working

Of course, the default gateway (the ISPs router) is not in my EXT /29 network. Is that the problem? If so, how do I resolve it since my assigned block is not contiguous with the default gateway yet I need separate networks for EXT and DMZ? Is creating static routes the key? Should the 645ME even be in bridged mode?

Your guidance is sorely needed and would be greatly appreciated.
