We have a tri-homed network (Internal-DMZ-External) and I am testing ISA 2004. Using publishing I have managed to make our WWW server avilable to the internet which was easy enough.

I was going to configure an external DNS server on our DMZ for requests to our WWW server and Terminal Server (also both in the DMZ) though I it appears that through ISA publishing I no longer require it. Is this true ? By publishing our terminal server am I just opening the terminal server port ont he ISA's external interface ?

Secondly we have (internal and external) mail routed to subdomains in other sites. By publishing the Exchange server on our internal domain are we effectively opening port 25 on the ISA's external interface. If so wouldn't this mail route to the subdomains via the internal DNS.

Do I need a DNS server anywhere other than on the internal network ? stanley.whittle@virgin.net
