Can't get out going through newly installed ISA server. Set up protocol rules to allow http, etc., can ping the internet, but ISA won't pass the traffic returning a 400 Bad request-The data is invalid (13) error. Any ideas?

Hi Oakesh,
Data is invalid? I recall seeing that once. I think there was a problem with the LAT.

I am also having this problem. Our LAT contains a range of ip addresses, including the one we are using. Stuck Liz

Take out the range of ips in the LAT, and only add in the ip scheme that you use. If your network is only 192.168.0.0/24, then you would only need 192.168.0.0 in your LAT

We are using DHCP for our workstations, and have static ips for the servers. Should I just put the servers' ip addresses in there? Thanks Liz

Hi Liz,
The LAT should include only the addresses that are valid on your internal network. The LAT config utility allows you to add all the private address network IDs, but if you're not using them, do *not* include them in the LAT.

Thanks Tom. Yes, we only have the addresses we are using in the LAT. Still having the same problem. In looking at the logs,I am getting a CONNECT for each entry in question.. Result codes are alternating between a 0 or 20000. For all 20000 result codes only 3322 bytes are transmitted. In the application(Workflows) report log the error message is ... cpio: Can't read input: end of file encountered prior to expected end of archive. I am wondering whether the zip file is being truncated. The files' extensions are .cpio.Z and .tar.Z. Would these extensions be part of the problem? Liz

Hi Lar,
I thought you were getting the 400 error all the time. Is it just for a specific application?
Thanks!
Tom

Tom, Sorry about that. It only happens when we are at one specific website, which is linked internally to our library catalog and externally to a library content provider, e.g. excerpts, book jackets. The initial page contains only bare info, and there are no errors. When we click on 'Full Details' within this page, a process runs in the background that goes to the library content provider's server to retrieve these excerpts. This is the point/page from which we receive the 400 error. We have tried unsuccessfully to get detailed information on the makeup of the processes that seek information from the content server. Liz
