I'll try and make this short and sweet the best I can... My company recently moved and I noticed that when I installed SBS 2003 SP1 a month ago that I accidentaly assiged the Gigabit card to the internet and the 10/100 card to the network switch... oops! So I changed the IP addresses, swapped the cables and re-ran the Network Configuration wizard. That's when it started happening. Anytime a user accesses (attemps to access) the internet, I get... *** quote*** HTTP 401.2 - Unauthorized: Logon failed due to server configuration Internet Information Services Technical Information (for support personnel) Background: This is usually caused by a server-side script not sending the proper WWW-Authenticate header field. Using Active Server Pages scripting this is done by using the AddHeader method of the Response object to request that the client use a certain authentication method to access the resource. ***end of quote*** Now, all the articles i've found on the internet suggest anonymous access needs to be reset in IIS for the particular website that IIS is hosting which that said user cannot access. This isn't a problem with IIS, I think ISA is routing all outbound requests back internally, IIS is picking it up and poping this error. ***What I've done so far*** I've removed and reinstalled the NICs. Removed and reinstalled ISA. Neither of these issues helped, and please let me add that all internal network connectivity works. And even remote controlling the server remotely works as well. I did find that uninstalling ISA and the Client Firewall will provide access. I've also found that running repair after the fresh ISA install will fix the issue until I reboot the server. After I reboot, the issue comes back... OH, and as another little nuance, if I uninstall ISA and the client, but I leave the ISA Client information in IE's Proxy settings, the users will still get the 401.2 error. Please help. I don't want to wipe and reinstall, that will take forever.

It probably is an IIS error. Re-run the connect to the Internet Wizard. Its likely that your website are listening on the wrong IP.

Actually, every change I make I rerun that wizard. Any other suggestions? Please keep in mind, this is NOT for hosting my own websites, this is for access to the internet from all users. Eddie
