i am in the process of trying to setup OWA, i am only using port 80 at the moment for testing purposes

i have setup the mail publishing rule, when i try to connect from an external source i get 500 Internal Server error

i have read somewhere it has to do with the name on the web certificate but i do not have one installed at the moment.

from what i can gather i can get to the firewall but no futher

setup is as follows

netgear dg834 is being used as the modem and its firewall has everything forwarding to the external ip address of the isa server (i think this may be the problem), isa server on the same network as my exchange server

any help or advice really appreciated

the public name i am using is webmail.wyliebisset.com and this resolves to my external ip address, the public name when i was publishing the server is webmail.wyliebisset.com as well

thank you for any help and guidance

Hi Haigy,

When you do an nslookup on the ISA firewall, what IP address do you see for the Public Name and To tab names?

Thanks!
Tom

thanks Tom, i found some information to do with sp2 and not sending authentication over HTTP, removed this and installed sp1 and now i get the logon screen, my only problem is that it does not seem to recognise usernames and passwords

at the moment i am only testing this before i move to HTTPS

any ideas on the above

thanks

Hi Haigy,

Please re-install SP2.

Don't use basic authentication for unsecure connections.

HTH,
Tom
