Hello everyone!

A lady here at my school works for social services and needs to access a secure web site. The site uses a citrix client to estabilish the secure connection.

When she logs into this web site it allows her to connect with the citrix client. After that she needs to connect to an application on the page.

When accessing the next page she is now greeted by a 502 proxy error from the local host.(127.0.10.1). It also gives the name of our firewall.

I'm running 2003 sp2, ISA 2004 sp3, and Surfcontrol sp2.
I have surfcontrol filtering all web traffic and only have one main rule in the ISA policies.
The rule is: Allow all traffic from all networks only from Authenticated users.

Surfcontrol isn't blocking her because it would tell me it is. I'm also not seeing her popping up in the ISA side.

Any suggestions?

I know I'm really new to ISA and could stand to have a more concrete rule setup.. but we do have an external firewall through our ISP.

I appreciate the help! .. oh and happy holidays!

If anyone can help me figure this out I'd really appreciate it.

Do I need to set up a VPN rule for the citrix or something?

Anything to point me in the right direction would be helpful!

Thanks!

A couple things you can do... Temporarily you could create an all allow rule to her citrix site to get her going. Also create the appropriate bypass under network configuration for the web proxy and fw client. If you want to hone your rule set down a bit more... It has been awhile since I have dealt with Citrix, but I believe you want to allow port 88 and 1494 to the website in addition to the normal http/https. At any rate you should be able to go into the monitor and with the appropriate filters be able to figure out the exact blocked ports.

I appreciate the response!

I've already tried giving that person an allow all rule for everything. That didn't work.
I'm going to try giving her machine a static IP and giving that IP address direct access. Hopefully that might work.

When she has been blocked in the past I've never seen anything pop up in the monitor. Which leads me to believe it's not even coming through the firewall.. I'm a little confused about all this.

I'll keep trying though!
