Hi all,

I am facing a problem enabling authentication on ISA 2006 configured as a Web proxy only [No firewall, Single NIC] while configuring authentiocation. I have a domain controller on which the dns is configured as a root dns, hence i am not in a positon to configure forwarding on that DNS Server. So i need to specify my ISP's
dns on the ISA server itself.

Now I need to configure Authentication using Active directory. As I am not able to mention my local Domain IPs I have now installed a new domain controller on the ISA Server itself.

The authentication works for the group that i have specifed in the access rule, but the problem is any new user added to the group does not get internet access. I need to remove the group from the access rule and add it back for it to get access. Even if i remove an existing user it does not get reflected in the rule.

Also if a user wants to add a machine to ths new domain it does not permit.

Let me know if i am doing something wrong or if there is any other way of providing authentication using active directory.

The major problem, I cannot modify anything in the existing Domain Controller as it is very critical part of my network, hence deleting the DNS and reconfiguring it to enable forwarding is ruled out.

Please help.

Thanks in advance....

Regards,
Srinivas

Hi Guys,

I have found the solution for the problem  in which machines were not able to add themselves to the domain.

To add machines to the domain on which ISA Server is installed you need to create an Access Rule permitting users for Net Bios protocol.

And for the users problems the problem was in the access rule as the new user were not getting reflected.

Srinivas
