I have upgraded from ISA 2000 to ISA 2004. Auto Discovery has now stopped working it always ask now for a NT username and password. I have intergrated and basic authentication running on the network element. If I type the name of the proxy server into the IE settings it will allow a client straight in with no NT username and password prompting. I also have a problem now that ISA server 2004 is not being bypassed for local addresses and all my internal web server stuff is being blocked. Can anyone help?

Hi Robert,

Make sure you disable the "always ask unauthenticated users to authenticate" option and that will fix things.

Tom

Thank you for the speedy reply. Do I really want to do that though? Reason being that we use the log's for checking what people have accessed, and as I am looking at the logs at the moment all users are just being given anonymous access

Hi Robert,

I always do it. Just don't create any anonymous access rules and there won't be any unauthenticated connections.

HTH,
Tom
