Upgraded our production server from ISA 2004 Std. to ISA 2006 Std. The OWA publishing rule doesn't seem to have upgraded correctly. 1) the OWA form was replaced by an ISA server form. Had to tweak the rule to point to the Exchange custom forms to get the OWA form back. 2) Users are now prompted twice for credentials. The rule switched from "basic authentication" delegation to "No delegation, but client may authenticate directly". So after users sign in to the OWA form, the web browser prompts them for credentials again. After signing in, OWA comes up properly.

I tried switching the rule to "Basic Authentication" but then users are never able to log in. It just times out after signing into the OWA form. My Exchange FE server is set to allow Basic authentication and require SSL. Any ideas what to check next? Thanks.

okay I think this is now more of a path redirection issue. If I enter https://owa.domain.com/exchange/ all is well with Basic authentication delegation. However, if I try to enter https://owa.domain.com or https://owa.domain.com/exchange the login times out with Basic Authentication. On my path tab in the OWA rule I have external path / mapped to internal path /exchange, plus the other standard ones: <same as internal> for /public/*, /Exchweb/*, and /Exchange/*

Called PSS. They had me verify IIS on my Front-End Exchange was configured to redirect from the default web site to /exchange as in article 319878 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319878/

It was. Then they had me remove all the Paths in my OWA rule and replace it with just <same as internal> and /*

Worked like a charm. Now I can type https://owa.domain.com and it redirects properly. Woohoo.
