I have been searching for a while for the answer for this but keep coming up empty. Does anyone know of a way to stop the streaming of internet radio? I am not too worried about the streaming of videos to much. I have been monitoring with GFI WebMonitor and PRTG and noticed the bandwidth that is being used is starting to become a little to much. The main usage is from streaming internet radio. I want to find a way to curb the usage without having to buy another piece of software like Surfcontrol.

Hi,

u can use Content Type and/or File Extension to block audio/video, check this : http://www.elmajdal.net/isaserver/Block_Desired_Extension_Content_Type.aspx

It doesn't work. I tried all extensions that can be streamed over the internet and I was still able to get the music. These streams are coming over HTTP port 80 so I believe that these can't be stopped in that way.

If it's coming through the web proxy then it must look like http.  So it probably has a mime type or other signature you can block.  Look at the traffic with wireshark or network monitor and maybe you can see what you missed?

also what rules do u have on your ISA Server, maybe users are getting access by another access rule.

a sample site would be helpful for us to test.
