I have installed ISA server 2006 Enterprise eddition on a windows 2003 server. I want to block all email attachments sent from any webmail sites either free email provider or paid. Like - Yahoo, Rediff, Hotmail etc. Email attachments should not go to any internet email through outlook also. But at the same time I want to allow some Project Manager to send attachments but not from any webmail but from outlook only.

I am also using one intarnal exchange server server for internal office communication on local intranet only. It is not published on internet. I want using local account people can interchange email with attachment. i want to block attachment sending on internet.

Please reply ASAP

Best Regards
Ashraf

Hi Tarek,

I have done all the steps as given on link. And tried after applying changes. When I send mail from my yahoo and gmail account with attachment it safely received my anothe email account.

Please advise what should I do?
I really want to stop sending attachment from any computers from my network behind ISA. I am using ISA server 2006.

Best Regards
Ashraf

Hi,
if you want to block users to download the attachments from their mail use this signature:
Search in: Response Headers
Http Header: Content-Disposition
Signature: attachment
I've tested this with gmail yahoo, hotmail.
Tarek's link will stop adding/uploading attachments.
Regards!

None of this will work over https by the way, for that you'd need an ISA filter add-on.

Hi Greg,
Yes that's true, but we don't use ssl after login with Yahoo or Hotmail(at least according to my knowledge).
I saw that gmail can use it if we go by https://....
