Hi all --

I have ISA2004 setup and I've come across an issue and was hoping someone could help me out.

Whenever I try to type an IP address of a server in Internet Explorer I get the following error message.

502 Proxy Error. The ISA Server denied the Specified Uniform Resource Locator (URL). (12202)

So for example, let's say I have an internal website/application; if I type the IP address I get an error message, but if I type the host name of the server or the proper domain address the page loads up.

Is there something one has to change in ISA to allow users type in IP address?

Hello Javed,

If the default site on the ISS server is published as the site you are looking for, when you type in the IP address you should be served the page.

This is not just related to IIS; it's for all applications.

If I try to use an IP address of the server the connection fails. I have to use the hostname or FQDN for the connection to be successfull.
