The closest to this error I have found is one which points to a problem installing the SMTP filter, this error message is different. "Setup error" ISA SErver COM Object (wspadmin.dll) cannot be registered. I've looked all over MS for Q articles on this, I am totaly lost on this one. I mean I can't even get through the install!------------------

Hi Poomba1, Could be a problem with the install of Win2k, or perhaps with the source code on the CD. Try getting a replacement CD and see if it installs then. HTH, Tom ------------------ http://www.isaserver.org/shinder/ Get It Here!

Hi Poomba1, Do you have any other applications installed on the ISA Server machine that might be interfering? Or, are you trying to run Integrated Mode on a single homed machine? Thanks! Tom ------------------ http://www.isaserver.org/shinder/ Get It Here!

I've tried Integrated Mode and Firewall only on a machine with dual nics. Itried several variations of IP address's (just to see if that was the case) and I still have this problem. I think I'll be calling MS on this one, I shut down just about anything I don't need, the conflict has got me. I'm shooting for one NIC to be internal from 3-254 and the outside to include IP#'s 1 and 2 of a live internet subnet.

Maybe try running the security templates/analysis and resetting the security on the box back to default? Could be that your logon doesnt have access to create the registry entry in CLASSES_ROOT so check out the security permissions with regedt32.I dont know if this is anything to do with DCOM (I'm not too hot on this side of things) but you could try firing up DCOMCNFG and making sure that in the default settings admins have rights to create new OLE servers etc Good luck Drew

Hi Drew and Poomba, I've tried to "fix" the dreaded Security Wizard by using the Security Analysis and Configuration snap-in and applying the "setup security" template. It does change a lot of things, but doesn't fix ISA HTH, Tom ------------------ http://www.isaserver.org/shinder/ Get It Here!

I finally fixed it. Stupid me changed two things at once, I'm unsure what exactly let it go. First I allowed unauthorized install of files and drivers from the local security policy. I had left this issue and was trying to install NAV Corp ver 7.6 and it came up with some strange failure to register DLL message. I wished I documented it but if you do a search at Symantec's knowledge base it should give you the 2 DLL's you need to register. Try one then the other, let me know if either one fixed the issue.
