This is my first post so i whish to say hello to this good comunity..

Ok.. i am totaly noob with ISA 2004 that is already installed at my company. My colleague whish to access some ftp site that require authentication and when he enter ftp://someip he gets:

Error Code: 502 Proxy Error. The login request was denied. The logon account might have been disabled or logon information might have changed. Log on again to verify that the information was typed correctly. If the problem continues, report the problem to the administrator of the Internet server you are requesting. (12015)
IP Address: *.*.*.*
Date: 01/04/2008 14:11:17

I tryed to access that FTP site from home (he gave me his username and pass for it) and i have succseed in connecting to FTP server...
So i think i have a problem with my ISA server. I dont have an administrator near by so i have to find solution myself.
Also i have tryed to put isa firewall client on my computer but it doesnt fix my problem.
Also tryed to remove FTP folder view and use passive mod in internet explorer again without any luck.I tryed the trick to put a username in line with complete adress like ftp://username@ftp.site.com but it also didnt gave me an answer... We use internet explorer 7 in company if that means anything. I dont know if there is any service pack installed (i dont know how to check that) , but i know that there is already SP3 for isa 2004 server.
Any help appreciated...

Hello vlajkom,

I have the same problem here. I have an Isa Server 2004 STD with SP3 applied but it doesn't work. I think that this behavior is because Isa Server sends an anonymous as authentication when it is accessing a ftp server from IE. I'm not sure!

I've found a workaround, just putting the username and password in the URL. For example:

ftp://username:password@ftp.domain.com

It's working nice for me, but I think that is not a good solution.

Do you have any idea how can we fix this "trouble" completely?
