Hi

I have ISA server 2006 set up and running as an Edge firewall and have a number of web publishing and acccess rules. ISA also deals with VPN clients, a site to site VPN and Exchange messaging.

When I set it up it was given 10.1.1.2 as a class 3 IP address. I would now like to change this to 10.1.1.1. What would be the impact of this? and are there any pitfalls that I would need to be aware of?

Thanks
Tony

Hi Tony,

Make sure your internal DNS is able to resolve the IP address to the name of the firewall.

That also includes your WPAD entries.

HTH,
Tom

Hi Tom

Thanks for the quick response. My main concern is whether it would affect the site to site VPN. For instance would I need to restart the ISA service?

At present we do not use WPAD so it would not be an issue - that will come later when I have more time.

You might need to restart the firewall, but not sure. You probably will be need to restart the Firewall service because of the outbound Web Proxy listener.

HTH,
Tom
