Hi folks, I am somewhat new to ISA and we have recently got ISA 2006 installed. The VPN componet works, question though. We use Roaming Profiles and have our Profiles, Desktop and My documents folders redirected to our server. The ISA VPN is fine from a speed point of view except when accessing anything using a redirected Profile, Desktop or My documents folder. Is there a way to ensure these redirectors work as per usual for all standard "wired" internal connections but Roaming profiles, desktop and My documents folders are turned off for VPN clients ? One solution would be to make a separate user name for the vpn connection, ie LesVPN instead of just Les, and massage the GPO's to not launch for those new VPN user names, but that introduces a whole new ball of issues (doubles all the user names, security managment nightmare, email retreive issues, etc...). Is there a way in the GPO disable the use of Roaming profiles, desktops and My documents for VPN clients but keep it enabled for Standard Wired clients ? I see"Advanced-Specify Location for Various User Groups" under the Roaming Profiles GPO, but really don't want to split behavour by Group that a user is part of. More weither there access is via Dial-up or Std Wired connection. Any great ideas out there ? I am sure many others have this same question regarding roaming profiles and such. The main reason why I want to do this is.... roaming profiles are really a headache to manage remotely as the laptop and desktop never really have the same software, and I always seem to have sync issues. Not to mention the heavy lag you get trying to open a document when Roaming My Desktop folder is redirected, and your running under a VPN. You may go File Opne in Word and wait a solid 20 seconds.
