I've been trying to install SP3 for ISA 2004 EE.  I keep getting an error stating that "Setup cannot initialize ISA Server settings".  Additionally, when this happens, the Firewall service stops and cannot be restarted and I have to run the installer to repair the installation to get it working.  ISA is installed on Server 2003 Sp2 Std., and I have updated ADAM to SP1.  ISA currently doesn't have any service packs on it.  It is on a single server (CSS and ISA)  that is in it's own workgroup.

From what I can gather from reading through various posts here and on a Microsoft article, I need to be installing this using the credentials of the account used to install ISA originally.  The problem is it was installed by a Microsoft Consultant (who apparently had never read some of the best practices for configuration) a couple of years ago and no one knows what password he used.  He installed it as a local account on the computer he set up for himself.

All services on the server are running as either Network Service or Local System so none are using that account.

Can I just reset the local account password on the server without it breaking something?  My co-workers who were around when this was set up are kind of gun-shy about changing that account since they tried at one time to disable it and it completely broke ISA.

My other option would be to dump the conig (only 3 rules) and uninstall and re-install ISA on that server, but again, they really don't want me to do that since they had several issues getting it working in the first place.
