Hi.
First of all: I have noticed that other peoples have this problem as well as I.
http://forums.isaserver.org/m_2002036235/mpage_1/key_speed/tm.htm#2002037345

However some of the answers takes for granted that you know where to change the settings involved. Such as MTU. And I can not find netBIOS in my WINS server :/

When my clients VPN to my server everything works just fine. Ping, access local webservers, and Terminal Server. And it does not lag at all.

But when i explore the local domain for example such as \\server1\share and then download any file, its not going very fast. Vista says its about 60 kb/s (yes Vista can show wrong speed). A 10 mb file takes a very long time to download.

The server has 4 d/2 up connection to the internet. And my test client has 8 d/0.8 up.

So anyone in mood to help me out?

Or point me to any other threads about this?

Sincerely

Ben

Update:

I have now configured my computer to be a member of my local domain which ISA server as well as the RRAS server are members of.

Speed is now probably the best I can achieve 90 kb/s.
However, what does impact more in speed? VPN uplink speed or down? Since my test client enviroment is 8/1 and the VPN server is 4/3. Will it improve anything significantly if I upgrade my VPN to 8/3?

And lastly. What if my VPN clients are in China and my server which is in Sweden; do I have to add that client to my local domain? Since it did not work (with Vista) until I took my computer to my companys internal network, I could be in a pickle

Regards Ben
