Hi first of all please bear with me I am very new to all of this so some of this may sound stupid. config windows 2000 adv server with dns ,dhcp Nic 1 local net work connection StaticIP,Nic 2 xdsl with static IP before I installed ISA I set up a nat on the server and gave my clients a gateway of nic 1that worked great all my clients would recieve there DHCP info from nic 1 and the nat would let them out to the internet. But as soon as I installed ISA then clients could no longer get to the internet. I set up the lat by choosing both net cards to build the table but still no go. Please help

Hi The_Target, Don't include the external NIC in the LAT. You only want the internal network IDs to be included in the LAT. Make sure that you disable the RRAS NAT service. There can be conflicts, even to the extent that ISA NAT won't work. In fact, if you aren't using VPN configurations, you can disable RRAS on the ISA Server. It would be a good idea to remove DHCP from the ISA Server, but if you have no choice, you can leave it there. Just make sure its handing out the correct gateway address for the clients. Tom, Thanks for the relpy I got your book and after doing some reading I seemed to haver things pretty much working the oly issue I am having is I keep getting a perf mon error in my event log on the isa server and i can seen to get the perforance monitor to work I would really like to see how fast my connections are when downloading I have a sneaking hunch that when using ISA my download speeds are quite a bit slower than when not running through isa. any suggestions Thanks for you time

Hi Target, The bandwidth counters don't seem to work for most people unless they have a fix called isahf55.exe. It was posted to the ISA Server mailing list recently, and it should be posted to the MS site very soon. HTH, Tom ------------------ Tom Shinder http://www.isaserver.org/shinder/
