Has anyone ever experienced performance issues with Coldfusion pages when published with a Web Publishing Rule under ISA 2004?
Specifically, we have a series of websites published on the DMZ as virtual sites under Win2k3/IIS 6.0 and the server is also running ColdfusionMX. Webpages under Coldfusion (with the .cfm extension) seem to render very slowly in comparison to other pages.
At first I thought it was a problem with the publishing rules, as it only seems to happen when the firewall is added to the mix. Opening a .cfm page from the LAN to the DMZ (so still at 100Mb/s) across the firewall was slow, but .htm and .asp pages rendered fine. Furthermore, opening the page within the DMZ from another machine (so no firewall involvement) worked perfectly fine, so I know it's not a performance issue with CF itself.
Then I did a test using the same 500k web page with nothing but static html, and made 4 copies of it, a .asp page, a .htm page, a .html page and a .cfm page. Across the firewall, all but the .cfm page rendered perfectly, with the .cfm page going very slowly.
I tested from several external locations and the LAN using multiple machines, different machines on the DMZ, multiple operating systems and multiple browsers and the symptoms were all consistent.
Anyone have any suggestions or ideas?
