I’m sure this has been asked a million times but I’m confused and the documents out there are not making matters any better. So here goes, I configured an Office Communications 2007 server up for video conferencing for internal usages and it works great between all campuses, now I need to configure a Communications Edge server for external users to access the inside. One of the things I need to configure is a Microsoft ISA server (Internet Security and Acceleration Server) for a reverse Proxy. ISA server with 2 NIC’s one is connected to the internal network with IP 10.x.x.x the other is connected to our DMZ and the DMZ ‘s address is 172.x.x.x so I configured the NIC with IP address 172.x.x.x if this is correct what do I use for a gateway? What needs to be done on the firewall, do I need to NAT an address to the ISA server? Any help would be big time.

Hi, it seems you have another firewall besides ISA. You have to configure the ISA External Network (wich is on DMZ) GW as the IP of the other firewall connected on the same network. Regards, Paulo Oliveira.

Maybe I’m trying to do too much with this ISA server, all I need is a reverse proxy configured. I‘ve read article about using 1 NIC 2 NIC’s and even 3 NIC’s, I’m trying to find out what I need for a reverse proxy for the OCS 2007.

Maybe you are underestimating a firewall that you don´t know how to use it! If you have a bit of knowledge about ISA, you would know for use it´s reverse proxy capabilities, you just have to create a publishinh rule! With ISA you can use as many NIC as your hardware supports! If you read some article, why don´t you just follow it? Instead of say bogus things about ISA you had to focus on what I replied to you.

For some reason you sound Mad, what did I say that was bongus about ISA? ""If you read some article, why don´t you just follow it?"" That above reply was Nasty, I posted on this board because I don't know about ISA and firewall's...I came for help, isn't that the reason of this board?

You also have to make sure that the Office Communications Server does not use complex protocols (common with video conferencing) that ISA cannot handle or is very difficult to handle. I really doubt that a Web Publishing scenario is going to cover all the Office Communications Server is going to need. But then,..I really don't know anything about Office Communications Server,..I don't think I could correctly spell it four times in a row. Luckily I only needed it three times in this post.
