Hi all, I want to share my experience with running an Emule client (file sharing program) behind ISA Server. Host OS ist Windows 2000 Advanced Server (which doesn't matter, on Win2003 everything is the same). I created some protocols and a firewall rule and configured the FW client. On the client side, configuration wise everything looks Ok: I get a high ID and Kad is open. However, with both products Emule is not usable. These are the reasons: ISA 2000 -------- Though the client finds hundreds of sources, there's almost no download happening (maybe 20 MB in 8 hours). Upload starts immediately, but has not much throughput either. All the time the client is in a "down" state, every mouse click takes ages to complete (while CPU usage is low). ISA 2004 -------- Here the problem is not on the client side. Upload starts immediately, download after a while, and throughput is fine. The "down" state of the client lasts for only 30-60 minutes. However, on the ISA Server the proxy (firewall) service begins using more and more memory. After a few hours, memory usage of the service goes down again, but total system memroy is rising indefinately until the server doesn't respond any more!! Has anyone seen similar problems? Any suggestions how to solve this or at least how to find the root cause of this behavior? I would prefer a solution for ISA 2000, because it performs much better than ISA 2004. Web pages load about two times faster with ISA 2000! Thanks, Sven
