Is Stopping concurrent connection option added in the ISA 2k4. It was not there ISA 2000.
Or does any one know how to configure it using some other 3rd party tool to stop concurrent connections...

Thanx..

Hi Fawad,

You can control concurrent connections in the Web Proxy advanced settings.

Really , thats a good news. [Cool]
Though [Frown] I was more interested in Firewall Service. But still its good.

I need to ask you Thomas. If we enable Authentication based on users in Firewall Service. Does that mean that we cannot give service based on IP's. LIke i want to have one rule based on IP's and One rule based on Users.
(I am using ISA 2000 right now).

and One more thing, is it necessary for all the User Comptuers to be in the Active Directory Domain for them to be able to enjoy Firewall(winsock) service based on Users.

Thanx Thomas for all your interest and replies.

Hi Fawad,

There is also the option to control the total number of sessions by right clicking on the server name and clicking properties. This is more useful for reducing worm activity, but if you have some users acting like worms, it might help you too. [Smile]

You don't have to join the machine to a domain to use user/group authentication in ISA 2004. For Web Proxy client connections, you can use RADIUS. However, you still need to join the firewall to the domain if you want to use the Firewall client for user/group based auth.

HTH,
Tom

Thanx once again, Thomas...

Ok if the Firewall Is joined to the Domain, Can I provide both User authentication and Client Adress set (IP).

Coz I need to give permission based on user names( in domain) but for some PC, I need to give permission absed on IP's. Other admin says that it aint possible at the sanme time.

Hi Fawad,

You have a great deal of control with ISA 2004. You can control access by user name or IP addresses. User name/group control provides a much higher level of security, but if you have non-Windows clients, or non-domain members, then you can also allow and deny access based on IP addresses.

HTH,
Tom
