Hello all,
This is my first post but I have peruved your forums many times and thank you for all the great info. I am running ISA2004 Beta 3 on a production, yeah yeah I know, but I hate the UI in ISA2000. I have setup SMTP publishing and it is working great to allow inbound smtp to our exchange 2003 server. I tried to setup the OWA publishing, even followed your guides here but to no avail I cannot get it to work. I am able to load the Forms based Auth. page of OWA 2003 just fine, but when I log in I get the following error: quote: You could not be logged on to Outlook Web Access. Make sure your domain\user name and password are correct, and then try again.
But, I can point to the exact same OWA server internally and am able to log in just fine, even verified my account is not locked out. I do have one blatant error on the ISA server, and it is: quote: You could not be logged on to Outlook Web Access. Make sure your domain\user name and password are correct, and then try again.
Thanks for any help you can throw my way. I have this setup in a back-end firewall configuration, we have a Watchguard FW on the front-end that passes data off into the DMZ network. I have tested from the DMZ straight into the ISA server, so it isn't the front-end fw causing the problem.
My network: External: public IP Internal: 10.1.0.0/16 DMZ: 10.100.0.0/16 [ May 28, 2004, 06:09 AM: Message edited by: TheMarlboroMan ]

Ok I just tried this fix below but it did not work.: quote: You disable forms-based auth at the Exchange site. This way, no unauthenticated users ever connect to the Exchange Server.

Ok so I solved my own problem, I will share my results though.
I noticed once I disabled Forms Based Auth. that internally I was still get the FBA page, so I did some research and on SBS2003 w/Exchange2003/OWA, MS added an ISAP filter called OWALogn to the site properties of the website.
Once I removed this, everything began to work perfectly. OMG I love ISA, I was hoping it wasn't a ISA2004 Beta bug. Night all, now onto configuring RAS, cause watchguard VPN is horrible, please take it from me, don't even bother going there.

Hi Man,
You're right about that. You need to disable FBA on the Exchange Server and let the ISA firewall generate the form. Then the ISA firewall will forward the user's basic authentication credentials to the OWA box.
Good to hear you got it working and thanks for the follow up!
Tom
