[Setup]
ISAServer 2004 Enterprise. 3 array and 2 CSS servers. Running on windows 2003 SP1. SQL server is 2000 SP4.

[Problem]
I have been following this Microsoft article to configure SQL remote logging for ISA.

For step 7 it states "Configure EXECUTE permissions for the sp_batch_insert procedure for ISA Server services for logging to this database."

This means configuring ISA services with a domain account to grant permission in SQL. I have created a domain account which is member of domin admins. Also has been granted log on as a service right on the array server. I configured all four ISA service accounts with this new domain account. All services start but from the firewall service, I get the following error in the system event log "The Microsoft Firewall service terminated with service-specific error 6 (0x6)."

I have now resolved this problem by assigning correct permissions in sql using the computer account of the isa array, please delete this post.
