Tom,
I did not think this could ever work, but there it is. Also, using LMHosts instead of DNS. And just using terminal server directly.
I'm working on a project with lots of servers to deploy and we're going to try this, and I'll post how it goes.
BTW, I noticed that your post was January. Any problems at all since then?

Hi Mike,
No problems that I'm aware of. I monitored the box pretty closely for a couple of months, and then the fellow I did this for took over. He hasn't called me with any problems, and he understands ISA, so I suspect he's had no problems.
Let us know about your successes with the same config.
Thanks! Tom

Hi Thomas !
Great article and I thank you for the work ! I follow what you wrote and everything is working ... Ooops, not everything ... web server is ok but ftp server is going bad : connecting as anonymous is possible but when executing commands like dir, get,... it says to me
"500 Invalid PORT Command. ftp: bind :Adresse dTja utilisTe"
which can be translated as "used adress" or "adress is already in use". FTP Log file says : "#Software: Microsoft Internet Information Services 5.0 #Version: 1.0 #Date: 2003-09-16 23:59:39 #Fields: time c-ip cs-method cs-uri-stem sc-status 23:59:39 127.0.0.1 [1]USER anonymous 331 23:59:42 127.0.0.1 [1]PASS pl@ 230 23:59:56 127.0.0.1 [1]QUIT - 500"
Can you help me to solve this issue, i asume it's a misconfiguration of ISA?
Thank in advance...

In ISA Server and Beyond... page 309, 4 line talks about not having the originating ip address in the web log files when using We publishing rules. It said that you can solve this by using Server publishing rules.
However, I get 127.0.0.1 in the weblogs, and am using the Server publishing rules.

I'm using server publishing too, but the W3C logs keep on displaying the internal (192.168.x.x) address..

I had to give up on trying to use ISA Server 2000 on the SBS2003 box. Basically, the ability to log the correct ip address of the surfer was important. Without that, I could not get accurate web reports, nor, ip address for security purposes.
