Hey everyone, first post, hopefully someone will be able to help me out here. I'm setting up my first ISA-server. It's a 3-leg perimeter. I have an internal subnet (192.168.0.0/24) and a perimeternetwork (10.0.0.0/24). So when I client tries to connect to www.microsoft.com it goes like this: SecureNat Client (==browser) => internal => (192.168.0.1) ISA-server (10.0.0.2) => perimeter => (10.0.0.1) ADSL-router (213.x.x.x) => www.microsoft.com First thing I did in the server is making a firewall policy from internal to external, to allow EVERYTHING. This was succesfull, cause I'm now able to ping www.microsoft.com. I'm also able to make the DNS-resolve (otherwise pinging would be rather difficult :p). I'm using our own internal DNS-server with a forwarder towards or ISP. Now here is the problem: I can ping, dns-resolve, ftp, but I cannot surf. My browsers (no special settings) always say "The request timed out before the page could be retrieved", Technical Information: "Error Code 1060". From what I can see it's only http & https traffics which acts like this. My suspision goes towards the ISA-configuration, cauuse dns-resolves work, but the loading of http doesn't. Please, if anyone is able to help me, I would be more than thankfull cause this problem is really destroying my upper braintissue

Well, I want to thank you for your response (but late I know). It's indeed the proxy which does not work at all. It was an assignment for an internship which is already over so I don't have access to the server anymore. I just did not get the proxy to work. When I did a test with another proxyserver in the browser everything worked fine. I was not able to determine the cause of the proxyproblem.

hey ISA is working fine if u have dns ,ftp ok besides the 1060 code is not a http error code it is a system error code ! it Accures most when u have on of these errors : --------------------------------- Windows-Installer Errors Broken or unregisterd and called DLL Files Windows Startup Errors Internet Explorer Errors Runtime Errors wrong File & Registry Paths Broken DLLs, OCX, and ActiveX Components Corrupt Files Scripting Errors ---------------------------------- So I suspect to the ISA Server http filter dll file missed registration try isa server reinstallation and try another path to install. like d:\isaserver . thats why microsoft suggest a lab to try the product before implementing it on ur network. ;) so to go through it ! and let us know about the result. Good luck S.H.Hashemi MCP
