Well, I am not a fan of Microsoft products but I have to admit that ISA Server was pretty sweet other than the HARD TO FIGURE out policy creation...
Anyway, decided to try out 2004 and the "look and feel" makes for nice eye candy but I am trying to dig deeper and I am noticing alot of little annoying things...
Like how do you CONFIGURE Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, etc, etc under Dashboard under Connect Type... They ALL have STATUS - UNKOWN (Not Configured)... So where do I ***** configure it? "[Smile]" I looked all around and seems no one posted this question up yet... Thanks...

Hi DonChino!
1. To Configure DNS Make sure that it is installed, to check its installation goto control panel->AddRemove Programs-> AddRemove Windows Components->Network Services a check before DNS and/or DHCP represents whether it is installed or not, after confirmation you may configure it from control panel->Administrative Tools-> DNS/DHCP .
2. To configure Active Directory goto Start->Run and type dcpromo after providing sufficient information you will configure Active Directory

Once you fully learn the interface you'll realize it's more than just eye candy. It's also a more efficient way of organizing things than the previous version.

On that screen you should also see a connectivity tab. On that tab, if you open the task pane, that bar on the right-hand side that slides out, you'll see a "create new connectivity" or something similar. Using that you can tell the ISA server where the DNS, DHCP, and Active directory servers, etc are.

Whooops! Duh... Forgot about the Task Panel... [Big Grin] I had it minimized so I could not see the tasks and was busy right clicking everywhere and checking MENU items until my finger turned BLUE. Still, they should allow right clicks for common tasks but THANKS...
I can see that I can CONNECTIVITY VERIFIERs now... Cool Beans... [Cool]

Anyone running Panda Adminsecure? Seems since I installed ISA 2004, that little popup window with system messages now comes BLANK... Suspect ISA is blocking the message but dunno how or why, although Panda is sweet, kinda spotty here and there...
Help?
