I know that the 3rd party vendors would not like it but a real time monitor and at least a basic content filtering feature..based on key word searches would be great. Any hopes, Microsoft???

Hi Leslie,

The ISA 2004 firewall already has a real time monitor! Check it out in the Monitoring tab.

Content filtering can be done with either domain sets or URL sets. You can even import entries from text files into the sets.

HTH,
Tom

Thats true Tom. I use it a lot but I meant a real time monitor of sites users are visiting....like webmonitor. BTW I cant make even webmonitor2 work with isa server 2004 beta...works fine with 2000 though.

Hi Leslie,

When the full version of ISA 2004 is publicly available, you'll be able to use the GFI WebMon 2 on the ISA 2004 firewall. Its very nice!

Thanks!
Tom

Hi,
Use WINTAIL till isa 2004 final ver releases. Wintail can let you view your web logs so that you can monitor which site is visited by which user, ip, rules applied, cache settings and other usefull info.

Hi Syed,

Great idea! I've used Wintail with ISA 2000 firewalls. You need to be careful with ISA 2004 firewalls, because if you use the default logging method (MSDE) then it won't work. You'll need to log to a text file.

Thanks!
Tom

Hi Dyz,

Web site hosting on the ISA firewall is generally not supported for reason like you mention here and many, MANY more.

Tom
