Hi Everyone,

I'am trying to installing ISA Server 2000 Firewall Client, but the installer failed with this error.

Also, Event 11708 Source MsiInstaller is also generated.

I try almost everything. Any help will be appreciated.

My environment is,

Server: ISA 2000 w/SP2 on Windows 2003 R2 w SP2

Client: Windows XP Pro w/ SP2 (all critical and security updates are installed)

Are you Trying to install FWC on a 64bit Machine ?

any antivirus software installed on the client machine ? maybe u can uninstall it and try .

8.3 filename limitations have been known to generate this error - see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/M294409

Additionally you may want to consider 'the lastest version' of the firewall client- particularly if a Vista machine - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929556

Thanks elmajdal and AHIT,

By the way i check uninstalling the mcafee v8.0.i but the same.

AHIT, i download the firewall client you mention and it installed successfully and detect my isa.

Will it require any more settings on isa server ?

How do i deploy it on another workstations, execute from local machine. How can it detect the firewall client settings on isa server, because firewall client are need to install from the share \\isaservername\mspclnt.

Please clarify.

Great to hear it worked!

Once you've installed the client and 'pointed it' to your IS server, no additional settigns are required as the client retrieves LAT and other details fromt eh IS server itself.
This MS knowedge base article is about the ISA2004 firewall client so you should be able to use the same principles/options etc with your newly downloaded client - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/838122
