Hello,
I would like to know if it is feasible in ISA Server 2004 to produce a Custom Network Reporting Utility that logs the full URL of a website's webpage being visited?
In particular, I am trying to capture the URL of the Webserver inside a LAN that is being accesses by a client via VPN Tunnel from a branch office. The VPN Tunnel goes from the branch client's Office through the ISA Server directly into the Web Server. The VPN Tunnel is NOT stopped at the ISA Server.
Is it still possible to create this Custom Networking Reporting utility with these contraints?
Regards,
Colin.

Hi Colin,
As long as the VPN connection terminates at the ISA firewall/VPN server, you can get very detailed reports of user activity.

Is there a SDK tool/feature I can use to look that the URL's destination webpage if there is a SSL connection passing through the proxy server?
(Its not a VPN Tunnel I am inspecting, rather a SSL Connection)
Cheers,
Luddite

Hi Luddite,
Oh! SSL "VPN" (SSL can't really create a rule VPN because its not a true VPN protocol).
Yes, this is very easy using SSL to SSL bridging.

Thank you for your reply.
I would like to take advantage of your invitation as per the your profile page to refer to your book. "Also, let me know if you have the books, because the answers to many questions can be found in my books."
Can you please tell me where I can learn about SSL Bridging in your book? (I do not have a copy yet.)
Cheers,
Colin.

Hi Colin,
I don't have any books out for ISA 2004, but the same principles of SSL bridging apply. You can see how SSL bridging works by checking out the OWA series.
