Hi, I've got a Isa Server 2006 installed (with activated Proxy), a Windows SBS 2003 R2 as Domain Controller, and the Clients are running on Windows XP SP2 and are member of the domain. When I install the Firewall Client on a Client computer, the computer looses the network connectivity. Usually it get's an IP-adress from the 192.168.62.xxx net, but after installation of the Firewall Client the DHCP fails, and the client gets a 169.254.xxx.xxx adress and the network symbol in the tray says "Limited or no Connectivity" If I deinstall the Firewall Client, the Computer immediately get's a correct ip-adress from the .62 subnet. Has anybody an idea, what's the problem? Thanks in advance! Surprisingly enough, I had no problems with the firewall client on my laptop, which is also in the .62 net, but not a member of the domain.

Yah, I have never heard of such an issue with the Firewall Client. Is this on all your clients ?

Yeah, unfortunately. I tested it on several (not all) clients which are member of the domain, and on each I got the same error. Just on one machine outside the domain, it worked well. Till now I had no chance to test it on another computer outside the domain, regrettably.

mmm, i have seen this with Nod32 Antivirus as well. there is for sure an option in the antivirus that will consider Firewall Client a safe application. There is such option in Nod32 and that was the way to unblock Firewall Client. HTH, Tarek

Hmmm.... I searched for such an option, but I just found two possibilities which each didn't resolve the problem: 1) I configured the Antivir Guard program (which runs as a process in the background to search for viruses in running programs, when accessing files etc.) so, that the FwcAgent.exe and FwcMgmt.exe are entered under "process exceptions" 2) I deactivated all options at the "extended danger categories", like blocking spyware, adaware, backdoor programs, etc. I couldn't find other options such as a list of blocked processes/programs, where I could unblock the FWC. I also configured the FwcAgent.exe as an exception in the Windows Firewall, without success. Do you know more details, for what configuration options I should look in my Antivir? Another thing: Again I get problems with the net as long as the FWC is installed (just as described in the first post.) When the FWC is installed and I try to get a new IP via "ipconfig /renew" then I get the following (german) error message: "Beim Aktualisieren der Schnittstelle "LAN-Verbindung" ist folgender Fehler aufgetreten: Ein Vorgang bezog sich auf ein Objekt, das kein Socket ist." translated it means "The following error occured when refreshing the interface "LAN-Connection": An operation refered to an object, which is not a socket." Anyone a clue? Thanks in advance, Martin
