Im keen to implement a 3-legged ISA config with a DMZ with public IP addresses, due to an application that requires this.

Is there any tricky way, apart from buying a minimum of 2 subnets, to do this?

Some people have mentioned using variable length subnet masks and other methods to remove the need for this.

Any help much appreciated.

You need to subnet your public block into two subnets, and then configure the upstream router with a route to your DMZ subnet.
