I have an smtp anti virus/spam box that I want to sit outside the firewall in the dmz. It has its own public ip out of our block of 8. The external inferface of the isa has another public address. what ip address should the dmz adapter have? the same as the external adapter or another public ip address out of our block?

regards

Matthew

Hi Matt,

You'll have to subnet your block and assign a subnet to the DMZ network. Make sure the upstream router is aware of the network ID on the DMZ.

HTH,
Tom
