I'm working on publishing our internal Sharepoint site externally - I've done a very basic web publishing rule that has worked for me, but I want to lock the publishing down a little bit yet.

I've read somewhere that I give one external URL out to all of my vendors, but when they sign in it will dynamically present them only the Sharepoint sites/lists that they have access to as opposed to landing them on the root of my sharepoint site and then letting them navigate to where they need to go.

Is this possible?  It would be really neat if it would be, but I'm just not sure what terms I should be searching for to look up more information on this.
