Disable Web Proxy Service - 6.Oct.2004 6:31:00 PM
Is there any way to disable the web proxy service on ISA 2004? My problem is this, we have a hardware based web content filter that we require all traffic to pass through before going out to the internet. When a user selects the Auto detect proxy server in IE then the user gets out to the internet via the ISA server and is able to bypass the content filter. I need to stop the ISA server from acting as a proxy server. All I want is for ISA to be a firewall. Can anyone help?

You can stop ISA Server from listening on port 8080 for web proxy requests, but why not configure ISA to use your content filter, and point everyone at the ISA Server? That way you could take advantages of ISA Server's cache.
