I have been struggling with the cache with my ISA 2004 EE array. I have two servers in the same array serving forward proxy function. All my periodic reports showing the cache did not work at all. The Cache Performance pie chart showed all requests under "Information not avalable". I read most of the cache problems in this forum and read Tom Shinder's book about the cache configuration. I checked my cache configuration many time and did not see anything wrong. My NTFS permission on the drive has Network Service.

I recently found the cache counters on the server actually showing big number of url cached and all the other counters indicating that cach is working.

Am I fooled by the report? What did I miss?

Hi Wendy,

Have you configured the clients as Web proxy clients?

Thanks!
Tom

Hi Tom,

All of our client machines have IE browsers and we use GPO to configure them to use my proxy servers. I am not sure how will this impact cache?

I used to have stand-alone ISA servers (IS 2000)and the casch worked just fine. Now I have ISA 2004 and put them in an array. Cache does not appear to work right. Clients did not change.

BTW, I like your book and many of the responses you posted on this web site. Thanks for contributing to the ISA community!
