Hey Guys,

I was wondering if any of you have had problems working with the ebay website and ISA2000. I am running SBS2000 with all the latest patches and have been playing with the ISA configuration and can't get ebay to work properly.

My major problem is uploading pictures uses ebay picture service. I was wondering if anybody has a work around or know how to fix this problem.

I'm having the same issue...

Has anyone resolved this yet? Everything seems to work except the Picture Service.

This seems to be a spyware problem. Download adware from www.lavasoft.com and delete any critical objects found.
You should then reboot your machine

I wish eBay would just wake up and publish the protocol details they use to upload pictures and save everyone a lot of trouble, instead of being criptic about it and saying stuff about non-standard headers... That just throws everyone off the track!

Anyway...

You probably already have your clients set to an IP range, you may want to make another set that only includes the clients you wish to allow for eBay.

Create a Destination set that includes something like *.ebay.com . You should probably look through the logs later and narrow that down a bit more.

Create rule that allows FTP to your newly created Destination set for the Client address set - FINISHED.

eBay picture uploading seems to just use good old FTP, of course the ActiveX will try to connect using IE proxy settings anonomously and won't provide user credentials. And of course it's not typical to allow all clients to FTP out from your network.

I wish application and web site developers would pull their head out of the sand and realise that everyone these days have firewalls and even proxies of some sort. Gone are the days of allowing complete unchecked access in and out to the internet - even for home users!
