I am running ISA 2004, cache only.
I experience a problem when I try to access the intranet. The Intranet site is hosted on the same server as ISA.

When i type http://servername/intranet
I receive a message saying "Error Code: 403 Forbidden. The ISA Server denied the specified Uniform Resource Locator (URL). (12202)"

When I type http://serverip/intranet
i.e http://10.0.0.1/intranet
The intranet site appears.

In IE, I have Proxy Server Setup to use a proxy server for you LAN and I am also bypassing proxy for local addresses.

On the ISA log it shows:
desitnation ip = server ip | client ip = user ip | destination = 80 | original client ip = 0.0.0.0 | protocol = nothing, field is blank | action denied Connection | http method = GET | URL = intranet

What would cause this problem? How can I fix it? so that I can actually view the intranet by typing the actual server alias and not the ip.

I have sorted this issue by using the fully qualified domain name as the URL.
So, http://servername.domain/intranet

But still having a problem where the intranet sites are still going through isa proxy.

Any ideas? Cant this be by passed?

I Have a similar problem with my intranet.. My problem is when I update the web files..
If I connect in the server to http://intranet/webfile.htm I don't have any problem but when I connect with another computer to the same page, the IE show me the last file (old file).

I clear the cachT and the problem continue.

I resolved this rebooting the server.. but this is not a solution

Can you help me?

Hi,

Hey guys. If you have a PIX firewall do you run webserver at it? Absolutely not since this was build as a sole firewall. So why do you need to run other services on the ISA Box. Try to install your web services on other machines. ISA Server will work well if you just run firewall services and other essential services needed for firewall process.

I'm having a similar problem...
I can't access an internal site from the isa server...
my reason... I have WSUS on another server and for some reason isa denies access to the internal wsus server... i don't understand why

maybe im missing my shot but:
you can configure ip's and domains you want your clients to access directly (without proxy). its in "internal" tab of network settings.

even if you do that ISA 2004 will be still checking your requests, but only for validity for ex. it will not allow https to port 23123.
