Hello to all

Iím running a ESX Server with 4 virtual guest machines. Iím having the oddest problem with Web publishing. When external connections are made they get this error message.

Network Error (tcp_error)

A communication error occurred: "Operation timed out"

The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests. You may wish to try again at a later time.

For assistance, contact your network support team.

All the clients can connect when internally. My OWA works fine from external connections.

Hi Impact,

What do you see in the ISA firewall's log files for these connections?

Thanks!
Tom

I don't see anything in the logs files. Do ISA allow virtual hosting with apache and IIS or do I have to do it by IP address only?

Hi Impact,

Yes, no problems with VMs, I use them very often to host Web services.

If you don't see any log file entries, that suggests the connections aren't even making it to the ISA firewall.

HTH,
Tom
