Hello all,

Anyone care to comment on their experience with using Network Engines appliances? Any particular likes or dislikes?

Thanks,
Will

Will,

First let me say I am a Sales Engineer for Network Engines in reality I am one of the technical resources for outside sales. So I am not going to rant about the box, however I will answer any questions you have on the appliance or I can do a one on one live meeting with you and show you the interface and where we add value.

BTW: We just announced our NS9200 which runs ISA 2004 EE.

Let me know if I can help.

Thanks
Ty

Hello,

I believe there is too much lost by getting an appliance. The NS6400 we have works just fine, but I can't get easy-enough access to the data in the logs to create new reports or to see who's VPN'ing in at any point in time. I want to write scripts that can access the fields of info in the logs, but there's no way to do it.

Use a regular box with great NIC's and you're much better off...

Or possibly look at Celestix, their units are much more open to customisation.
