Hi, I am using ISA 2004 SP1 Enterprise Edition. I only have Proxy Web listenning. Firewall Client is not enable. I know that without Firewall client, I can not used "Enable folder view for ftp" under IE. I have heared that we can use Filezilla (for example) to try to connect to Internet Ftp site. Could someone know which kind of configuration Filezilla works. (I have tried, SocksV4, SocksV4a, ProxyFTP, Transparent) about evryting and nothing work. Please help if someone know. ThankS. FreD.

ORIGINAL: fachache I know that without Firewall client, I can not used "Enable folder view for ftp" under IE. in IE , try this to solve this issue, you have to use the "Do not use proxy server for addresses beginning with:" configured to bypass the FTP server's IP address or FQDN name/Domain Name. this can be found in : Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > Advanced > HTH

Can someone shed some insight on how to configure ftp clients to talk with an ISA server? I currently have ftp read/write outbound protocol enabled along with the ftp filter and socksv4 filter. How does one configure ISA and a client ftp program to allow uploading files? Thanks in advance, Tom

I just came across your website and this is how I am currently configured. Now that you have helped me verify that my server configuration is correct could you explain how the client side configuration is set in order to upload the files. For example if one has an ftp client how do they configure it to talk to the ISA server, or what is the best client side way to upload files to an ftp site? Thanks again, Tom

I do force authentication and the client is running the client firewall. For the ftp rule I am only allowing an admin group of users to have ftp access. I have tested logging in and downloading through IE 7 and it works fine. The issue I have is that I cannot upload to a site from the client side because I am not sure how to use IE to upload to an ftp site or how to configure an ftp client software like filezilla to talk with my isa server. Is there a way to do this? Thank you again for your help, Tom

Thanks, works great. I knew it shouldn't have been as hard as I was making it out to be.
