Can someone explain the purpose and inner workings of FWC App Settings?

Let's say that I have SVCHOST and Disabled = 1.   I understand that FWC will not include SVCHOST process is ISA procesing...   What is the real purpose of these settings and how does this work?  Why do I have to add an ICQ process to the settings list and DISABLE =1 to get ICQ to work???

Thanks

Hi Chris,

When you disable the application in the FWC, that means that application will bypass the Firewall client and leverage another method to connect. In almost all cases, it will use the SecureNAT client configuration to work with that application.

HTH,
Tom
