Hi,

I got the same error yesterday and it's driving
me nuts! I have reinstalled WindowsXP Pro
and all my settings are the same (ip settings
from my dhcp server) and the same name in
the network for the computer. When installing
the firewall client i get this at 80% done

"Install Wizard was completed with an error!"

HELP! This computer is for development and it
must be up and running..

with best regards

/Christian

Have been trying a little bit more now, here
is the info.

Tried to install windows 2000 professional
and i still get the same error. The isa server
is a stand-alone server and member in the default
"workgroup" name. All the other computers are
members of a domain. This was the setup before
it stopt working

192.168.0.1 (ISA running on Win2003)
192.168.0.2 (Win2000 server as primary domain)
192.168.0.3 (Win2000 server with exchange2000)
192.168.0.4 (Win2000 server as a file server)
192.168.0.10 (Win2000 Pro as firewall client)
192.168.0.11 (Win2000 Pro as firewall client)

and now when we have uppgraded everything except
one server and this computer can install the firewall client software without the error? strange....

192.168.0.1 (ISA running on Win2003)
192.168.0.2 (Win2003 server as primary domain)
192.168.0.3 (Win2003 server with exchange2003)
192.168.0.4 (Win2000 server as a file server, can uninstall and install the firewall client without the error. Not member of the domain any more)
192.168.0.10 (WinXP Pro, firewall client fails)
192.168.0.11 (WinXP Pro, firewall client fails)

Is isa caching mac adresses or something else?
this must be a huge error in the software [Frown]

with best regards

/Christian

Please let me no if you figure this one out I have been searching for an answer for weeks MS is completely silent on this problem.... does anyone no what it means by "Publshing" is this publising in AD or Publising in the local registry this would help us narrow it down to add or a registery issue

my client computers are home made, asus
motherbords with athlon xp & 3com nics.

Reinstalled my isa stand-alone server today
and made it a member of the domain but it still
gives me that damn error. Now i don't know
what to try next, buy new computers? I have
heard that a microsoft update on windows
update has created a few errors & made same
software not to work any more untill you
uninstall the hotfix. Can this be it? anyone
know what hotfix that was?

I made it, now i can install the firewall
client on all my computers. This is a little
bit strange but it did work.

Installed FlashFXP and entered the isa server
settings for the proxy socks 4. Tried it for
fun to see if it worked without the firewall
client. It did not work but now when i tried
to install the firewall client it workt =) Tried
this on the next computer and it workt to. maybe
the server needed a wake up packet sent or
something....
