Hi, same problem here, ISA 2004, firewall clients, and 81000306 with windows live messenger 8. It work great with the firewall client disable. Direct access doesn't work. I've tried *.live.com and nothing. In ISA logs, with firewall client enabled, I get two allowed requests on port 1863, and one login.live.com with port 443, also successfull. After 1 minute, all the connection are closed with no failure in the logs, just the WLM 81000306 error. with firewall client disabled, the requests for 1863 are denied, and then it connects perfectly through proxy(the same reqest for https, is followed by many http successful connections) I tried different outbound rules, authenticated and not authenticated, even with all outbound, and still doesn't work. I tried this on many computers. Old version works fine.

Hello Vladj and all, Did you ever fix this issue with Live messenger and FW Client? I have exactly the same problems now and i'm using ISA Server 2004. The problem only happens in our remote offices that are on a different subnet from the ISA server. In offices that are on the same LAN with ISA, Live messenger connects straight up. Please advice as we rely greatly on MSN Messenger for our internal communiction. Thanks and regards, Conrad III
