I have just rolled out a network with isa, as the firewall/proxy. i have about 30 clients all running the firewall client. Everything is running fine and the clients startup with a connection the the firewall, but after 5-10 mins the firewall client disconnects, if i mouse over the firewall icon i says 'firewall could not be detected'. i can reconnect it manually (update now) but the client just disconnects again. any ideas? i have a perm net connection [This message has been edited by Pete (edited 14 May 2001).]

Hi Pete, I remember this coming up a couple of months ago. The reason for it never was clear, but most people found that if they put in the name or IP address of the ISA Server in the client and remove the automatically detect option, everything worked OK. What kind of wpad entries are you using? DNS or DHCP? Thanks! Tom ------------------ Tom Shinder http://www.isaserver.org/shinder/ Get it Here!

DNS pointing to the ISA server, cant be sure this is actualy working tho. i have changed the auto discovery setting and this seems to have done the trick, cheers tom. also, any idea why not all firewall clients show the curent user in the sessions screen and some only show the ip address?

Hi Pete, Are these firewall sessions that don't have user names or web proxy sessions. Published servers will only show with client computer information, without logged on user information. HTH, Tom ------------------ Tom Shinder http://www.isaserver.org/shinder/ Get it Here!
